Meet the Graduate Exhibition Project Curator 2025

26 November 2025

Helpmann Academy is thrilled to welcome emerging contemporary artist Stephanie Doddridge as the Project Curator for the Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition 2025.

Based on Kaurna Country, Stephanie’s practice explores the symbiotic relationships between humans and nature, utilising materials sourced from gardens to create works that engage with themes of care and reciprocity. Through mediums such as printmaking, ceramics, textiles, and sculpture, her art delves into the intersection of gardening, food security, and environmental sustainability in response to pressing issues like the cost-of-living crisis and climate change.

A graduate of the University of South Australia, Stephanie completed her Bachelor of Creative Arts (First Class Honours) in 2022, earning the Award for Outstanding Achievement. Her artistic journey is closely tied to Helpmann Academy, having been selected for the Graduate Exhibition twice and receiving numerous opportunities to develop her craft. Her 2023 solo exhibition, On Harvesting Dandelions, earned her the City Rural Emerging Artist Award during the SALA Festival.

Stephanie is eager to use this curatorial role to deepen her understanding of exhibition practices while supporting her peers:

“I enjoy being part of other artists’ successes and helping them bring out their best work. I don’t see myself as a competition but as part of a network of artists. The more that network achieves, the better we are all represented as the SA arts community.”
Stephanie Doddridge

She looks forward to fostering collaboration and championing the emerging artists featured in the Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition 2025, contributing to a thriving South Australian arts ecosystem.

Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition returns in February 2025.

The Helpmann Academy Project Curator Program is proudly supported by the City of Adelaide.
