Helpmann Academy and Hill Smith Art Advisory are thrilled to introduce Oakey as the recipient of the Gallery Assistant Mentorship 2023.
Oakey will learn from industry icons, Sam and Margo Hill-Smith, Directors of Hill Smith Art Advisory over the next few weeks as she prepares, plans, and assists with the delivery of a ‘pop-up’ group exhibition at Mezzanine 55 Gallery, Kent Town.
Oakey is an emerging contemporary artist based in Tarntanya/Adelaide whose practice traverses’ sculpture, site-specific installations, and sound. Using a range of materials, she creates works for both urban and natural environments.
As a previous Helpmann Academy Studio Resident and installer at ACE, Oakey is well placed to expand her practice and skill set through this professional development opportunity.

The Hill Smith Art Advisory ‘pop up’ group exhibition at Mezzanine 55 Gallery, Kent Town is open from Wednesday 22 February till Sunday 26 February, 11 am to 4 pm each day.
The exhibition features work from a range of Australian painters and sculptors including Helpmann alumni, Mirjana Dobson and Rebecca McEwan.
