HA>NESS Development Grants 2024

The HA>NESS Development Grants program is dedicated to fostering the creative and professional progression of emerging artists across various disciplines.

Recognising the challenges faced by emerging creatives, our initiative provides grants of up to $3,000 to eligible final year students and graduates.

The HA>NESS Development Grant brought abundance and opportunity to my artistic practice. With the gracious support from HA>NESS I was able to achieve things that I had never dreamed of achieving within my career.

2023 Recipient

The HA>NESS Development Grants are designed to empower artists at a pivotal stage in your career, enabling you to kickstart innovative projects or delve into research that informs your work. You may want to refine your artistic practices through workshops, residencies or mentorships. You could also enhance your skills and practice or expand market opportunities.

The HA>NESS Development Grants support a wide range of opportunities such as:

  • The creation and realisation of new works
  • Research and development of new ideas
  • Professional development programs

During my time in India with KalaKeli, I not only improved my dance skills, but also had revelations about myself as a human being. This has led me to have a completely new outlook on myself, my mental state, and my dance practice in the future. Without support from Helpmann, I wouldn’t have been able to have this life-changing experience at such a crucial time in my life. I now feel that I have a more sustainable, enjoyable, and motivated view of my dance practice, and I cannot wait to see where it leads me in my career.
