Real Impact: Lucy Zola’s Story
When Lucy Zola, a multidisciplinary artist and graduate of the University of South Australia, received a Creative Development Grant, it changed everything. With a practice spanning sonic art, ceramics, photography, film, and music, Lucy used the funding to take her work global—joining prestigious residencies at Po Leung Kuk in Hong Kong and Mongolia International University.
The experience was more than just a career milestone—it was transformative. With the grant’s support, Lucy expanded her practice, connected with international creatives, and stepped into her future as a serious force in the arts.
“The Creative Development Grant generously supported me to undertake artist residencies in Hong Kong and Mongolia to develop and exhibit two new bodies of work, which was profoundly impactful to my artistic growth. I am very grateful for all the experiences I had during these residencies, which allowed me to learn and grow significantly. These opportunities also helped me to refine my artistic direction and reignited my confidence and excitement to continue developing my artistic career.” – Lucy Zola, University of South Australia graduate.
