Helpmann Academy’s Boost Grants are BACK providing emerging creatives with a quick boost of cash up to $500 to support you when you’re just starting out.
Recipients can use the funds to purchase essential services and materials or pay for immediate costs. You may be developing small projects, building digital skills, or growing your audience. Or use it to support the continuation of your creative practice!
These funds can go towards activities such as:
- Building your audience (e.g. advertising, creating an online business, running workshops)
- Purchasing, hiring or upgrading technology or equipment
- Training in new skills that will enable you to improve your practice (e.g. computer software or programs, cameras and associated equipment, sound equipment, workshops and seminars)
- Purchasing materials and tools pertinent to your creative practice (e.g. paints and brushes, metals, timber, textiles, printing, framing, materials to create merchandise)
- Paying for costs associated with your practice (e.g. studio rent, website hosting fees)
“I feel affirmed in my ability to arrange and lead an ensemble, a growth in my confidence that will support me in continuing to develop my practice as a songwriter.”
Thea Martin, 2024 Boost Grant recipient.
“The support from the Helpmann Academy has been instrumental in our band’s development. The opportunity to invest in wireless microphones for our band will bring another level to our live shows for both us as artists and for our audiences. We are so excited to perform with these new microphones.”
Ruby Mensforth, University of Adelaide graduate.
Creative Boost Grants are for graduates up to five years from Helpmann’s eligible programs. Final year students are not eligible for this round.
