Announcement: Nicholas Pike Jewellery Mentorship 2025

We are delighted to announce the recipient of the Nicholas Pike Jewellery Mentorship 2025 – Chantel Frost!

Chantel is a contemporary artist in Adelaide who completed a Bachelor of Contemporary Art in 2020, a Graduate Diploma in Design in 2024, and is currently studying a Master of Design at the University of South Australia.

“I am so happy to be the recipient of the Helpmann Academy Nicholas Pike Jewellery Mentorship. I believe that this mentorship will be a pivotal moment in my life as an artist and equip me with knowledge and skills that I need to be able to work confidently as an independent jeweller.” – Chantel Frost

Chantel’s work often reflects a response to the societal status quo and observations of human nature with a subtle ironic humour, encouraging thought-provoking discourse. Her practice encompasses various artistic disciplines such as painting, glass blowing, and furniture design; however, her passion lies in designing and making beautiful jewellery and functional artworks.

Her jewellery design is inspired by the intricacies of nature, the beauty of Art Deco, Edwardian and Victorian styles, and the phenomena of sentimental attachment formed with treasured objects. She loves to make pieces that speak to the heart, always striving for aesthetic and technical precision.

“Having the opportunity to expand my technical capabilities will allow me to expand my practice and create work with exquisite designs and enduring quality, incorporating Australian precious stones and metals. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with such a skilled craftsman whose work I find beautiful and with qualities I want to engage within my own work.” – Chantel Frost
