Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition 2026 School Tours

The Helpmann Academy is offering all visual arts teachers and creative leaders the opportunity to book school tours for the 2026 Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition. Bookings are now open for your class to schedule a self-guided tour, aligned with the Australian Curriculum: Arts (Visual Arts) – Responding and Making.

The Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition has a long history of being a launchpad for the next generation of artistic talent in our state. SASA Gallery’s student focus will ensure that this tradition continues. Visiting the Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition is ideal for school students to learn about visual analysis and exhibition making through first-hand experience.

Visual artists from Adelaide University* and Flinders University showcase their graduate works across a range of disciplines including ceramics, glass, moving image, painting, photography, printmaking, sculpture, fashion, costume design, and textiles.

DETAILS

  • Bookings are now open for your class to schedule a self-guided tour
  • This exhibition is recommended for upper primary through to Year 12, although younger year levels are welcome to attend
  • Self-guided sessions generally take one-hour, but you may take longer or less time, as you explore the exhibition at your own pace
  • We request a maximum of 30 students per group plus a sufficient ratio of supervising staff

WHEN

  • Graduate Exhibition opening dates are Friday 13 February 2026 – Friday 20 March 2026
  • There are five school tour sessions offered per day, starting Wednesday 18 February at 10:30am, 11:30am, 12:30pm, 1:30pm and 2:30pm
  • Sessions run from Wednesday to Friday on Weeks 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 in Term 1, 2026
  • Regular gallery hours are Wednesday to Friday, 10am – 4pm

  • We have created a comprehensive Teacher Resource Kit which you can use for your self-guided tour

  • You can download it ahead of time, and it will also be available from the gallery at the time of your session

  • Select ‘1’ class for General Admission
  • Please create a separate booking if you are booking multiple classes
  • You will be asked at the checkout to include the approximate number of students and supervising staff for your booking

*Adelaide University opens in January 2026, drawing on the combined strengths and legacies of the University of South Australia (UniSA) and the University of Adelaide. Adelaide University artists exhibiting at the 2026 Helpmann Academy Graduate Exhibition may include graduates who have completed a UniSA Bachelor of Contemporary Art, Bachelor of Creative Arts (Honours), or another approved creative degree. These degrees continue to be offered at Adelaide University and can be found here.
