In 2023, we introduced our HA>NESS Development Grants program aimed at supporting the creative and professional growth of emerging creatives.
A total of $20,000 in funding was distributed among eight emerging talents, each grant valued at up to $3,000. These funds were allocated towards a diverse range of development projects and programs.
Among the recipients was Dante Niedzwiedz, an alumnus of The University of South Australia. The aspiring filmmaker with a keen interest in crafting profound thematic elements, Dante is utilising his grant in 2024 to produce a surreal short film titled Broken Bones and Ice Cream Cones.
After a setback in their initial plan of shooting in late February, Dante and his crew pushed back their shooting dates to better accommodate other elements such as costume design and choreography.
“Our first few shoot days yielded some great results and some enthusiastic responses from our incredible crew. We are certainly on track to reach our intended outcomes,” said Dante.
The 2024 HA>NESS Development Grants will open in September.
